Who Belongs

interrupted “who should be here” with who actually builds it

2009

Who Belongs was an intervention at a busy Houston intersection where a master planned mixed-use development replaced two city blocks. The developer installed an advertising fence over the sidewalk to hide construction. In the negative space between silhouettes of advertised future residents, I inserted matching 9' silhouettes of those actually building it for them. They stayed up for three days.
